ExpoPromoter receives $1 million investment from its current shareholders
ExpoPromoter, an online service for ticket and Expo booth distribution at exhibitions in China, has received a $1 million investment that will allow the project to increase its significant market share and raise profits by 200% in 2019.
ExpoPromoter was founded by Hennadiy Netyaha in 2009 and developed extensively in the market of Russia and Ukraine. By 2014, more than 70% of exhibitions used the service to attract visitors and exhibitors. In addition to CIS countries the service became popular among major international exhibition organizers including Fiera Milano, Düsseldorf Messe, Reed Expo and many others.
In 2015 the project was completely reinvented and transitioned to one of the largest markets in the world – China.
ExpoPromoter has become the only truly successful project in China with Russian-Ukrainian roots over the last 4 years. It has achieved tremendous results in the Chinese market, which is no easy task for foreign companies.
In 2017 ExpoPromoter earned its first $1,000,000, was invited to participate in one of the world's largest accelerators, Chinaccelerator, and successfully attracted local investments, entering the TOP 5 star foreign projects of the Chinese market in 2018. ExpoPromoter became a statistical information source for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and was invited by the government of the new Free Economic Zone of Hainan island to develop the exhibition industry in the region.
Currently ExpoPromoter is the sole distributor of tickets for all the biggest exhibition holdings of China and serves more than 800 exhibitions. The partner network of the service includes more than 6 000 partners, attracting 132 925 foreign visitors to Chinese exhibitions in 2018. In 2019 a new online service will be launched for exhibition stands with online payment for local buyers, the market capacity of which amounts to more than $10 billion annually.
ExpoPromoter’s further development in China will be carried out by Simon Zagainov, the new CEO. Simon has achieved extensive project growth and concluded more than 500 contracts over 4 years of work in the company’s Chinese office. Simon is the first Russian to enter the 30U30 Forbes China rating - the most successful young people under the age of 30.
Hennadiy Netyaha remarks: “The significant slowdown of the exhibition market in Russia and Ukraine in 2015 made us think about the further development of the project. So, this need created new opportunities for us. We have successfully entered the second largest (so far) exhibition market in the world and achieved good results. Over the years, the project has gone through stages from start-up to being an established company in the market and occupied the empty niche for ticket distribution for exhibitions. Under Simon’s leadership the company will continue its successful active development.”
Simon Zagainov responds: “I am grateful to Hennadiy and the shareholders for the opportunity to become the new CEO of ExpoPromoter. The company has a lot of ambitions, so I can't wait to start implementing them. It will not be boring! One of the main goals for the next couple of years is to become the most ‘local’ in China and ensure that 5% of transactions for purchasing stands at China's exhibitions pass through ExpoPromoter.”
